Poetry in America for Teachers: Literature of Earth, Sea, and Sky [IN PRODUCTION]

Poetry in America for Teachers: Literature of Earth, Sea, and Sky will provide teachers with the confidence and tools needed to explore the intersections of literature and science– to help their students read poems with an eye toward the natural phenomena that inspired them. This course will take teachers and their students from the California coastline, to Emily Dickinson’s garden in Western Massachusetts, to the coral reefs of West Papua, and it will equip them to engage with poems about early American landscapes and about contemporary climate disaster alike.
