Sara Falls

A National Board Certified teacher of nearly two decades, Sara Falls teaches English at a large public high school in San Francisco where she instructs a variety of literature classes and the class that runs the school newspaper. Sara graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in English and a sociology minor. While at university, she facilitated improvisational theater workshops with men in prison and creative writing workshops with incarcerated girls, work that ultimately inspired her teaching, as it furthered her commitment to building community, listening, helping others find their voices, and working for social justice. Sara loves language in all forms and is an avid reader of literature and poetry; she also writes short fiction, poetry, and non-fiction. She is a first-degree black belt in the Vietnamese martial art Cuong Nhu and also loves to cook, travel, learn the art of clowning, and more. She lives in Oakland, California with her sweetie, young son, and kitty.
