By using the website, programs, or content provided by Poetry in America (“Programs”), a service of Verse Video Education (“VVE”), you are agreeing to be bound by the following terms and conditions (“Terms”). If you don’t agree to these Terms, you may not register or use Poetry in America.

We may modify these Terms at any time

We’ll try not to, but just know that we can change these Terms at any time. If the changes are material, we’ll let you know by email or posting a notice on the site before the changes go into effect. The notice will designate a reasonable amount of time (the “Notice Period”) after which the new terms will go into effect for all users. Your content and use of the site will be subject to the new terms going forward.

We may modify our Programs at any time

We do our best to provide you with reliable and evolving Programs, but we may change, terminate, or restrict access to any aspect of the service, at any time, without notice.

Your content

You give us permission to use your content to provide Poetry in America programs, including, without limitation, storing, displaying, reproducing, and distributing your content. This may include promoting your content with partner companies or services for broader broadcast, distribution, or publication. We promise to never sell your content to third parties without your explicit permission.

We have the right (though no obligation) to refuse or remove any content you post or transfer to Poetry in America for any reason. Particularly if that content is found to be either harassing or explicit in nature. You are free to delete your content from Poetry in America at any time. If you delete your content, please know that it is permanently irretrievable, even by administrators.

You are responsible for the content you submit to Poetry in America and assume all risks associated with it, including its accuracy, or claims relating to intellectual property or other legal rights. By posting, you represent that you own or have the necessary rights to post the content on Poetry in America, and that doing so doesn’t conflict with any other licenses you’ve granted.

The look and feel of Poetry in America is copyright of Verse Video Education, Inc. All rights reserved. Some portions of the site are licensed pursuant to third party open source licensing. You may not duplicate, copy, or reuse any portion of the HTML, CSS, JavaScript, logos, or visual design elements without express written permission from Poetry in America unless otherwise permitted by law.

Your right to privacy

When you use Poetry in America Services, you consent to the collection and use of certain personal information, including your name and email address. We may use your personal information to send you notifications about the programs and to respond to customer support requests. We will never share your personal information with advertisers or send you promotions for unrelated programs.

We may be required to disclose your personal information in order to:

  1. comply with the law or legal process;
  2. protect or defend our rights or property, or the rights or property of others;
  3. enforce these terms; or
  4. respond to claims that the content of any material on our system violates the rights of others.

If we must disclose your personal information in order to comply with the law or legal process, we will inform you (at the email address you provide) as soon as we are able to, provided that it is lawful for us to do so.

You learn from us, we learn from you

We may aggregate user information and perform statistical analyses of the collective behavior of our members and visitors, to measure overall demographics, and to analyze how to improve our service. This includes the use of session or login cookies, login timestamps, usage statistics and IP addresses. We may share this information with third parties (such as Google Analytics), but such aggregate information does not contain personal information other than IP addresses. In addition, we may compile and disclose aggregate information about our users for promotional or other purposes.

We take security very seriously, and are always on the lookout for opportunities to make our service better. Please contact us immediately if you have a security concern.

Third-party account use for sign-ins

We do not currently use third parties like Twitter or Facebook to create and authorize user accounts, but may opt to do so in the future. By using those third-party services, you agree to their terms of use, privacy policy, and other agreements between you and them.

Links to Other Web Sites

Poetry in America contains links to other websites that we, or other users of our site, think may be of interest to you. We have no control over these other sites and our links to them do not constitute our endorsement of these websites or their content. You should be aware when you leave Poetry in America that other sites are governed by their own user agreements and privacy policies, which you should be sure to read. You agree that any visits to linked sites are at your own risk and are governed by their terms and policies.

Permitted Users

We hate to be exclusive here, but if you’re under 13, we’re afraid this community isn’t for you. In compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we will automatically close accounts for users under 13. If you believe that we have collected the personal information of a person under 13 years of age, please contact us immediately.

Copyright Complaints; DMCA Compliance

To file a notice of infringing material found on our Site, please provide a notification containing the following details:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed or, if multiple works, a representative list of such works;
  2. Identification of the material on our Site that is claimed to be infringing and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material;
