Theater of War and Poetry in America present “Those Winter Sundays,” feat. Bill Murray & Moses Ingram
On January 27, 2021, in the wake of President Joe Biden’s inauguration, partners Theater of War and Poetry in America presented live readings of Robert Hayden’s classic poem “Those Winter Sundays” by actors Moses Ingram (The Queen’s Gambit) and Bill Murray (Ghostbusters, Caddyshack, Rushmore), along with a recording of the new President reading the poem. Elisa New and Theater of War’s Bryan Doerries led a crucial dialogue between panelists and audience members about what spoke to them in the poem, sparking a dialog about economic hardship, family dynamics, parenting, domestic violence, racism, and American identity during this divided and fractured time.
